Ripcord

´Rip Cord is a simple improvement upon the classic roll of packaging tape. This tape has a small string running down the center of the tape. The user pulls the string to separate the tape in half. This makes opening boxes a cinch, as there is no longer a need for scissors, knives, or keys. The packaging tape dispenser has a sharp edge with which to cut the tape, this edge is shaped such that the tape is cut to provide a tab at the center. This tape makes it easy for users to locate and lift the string.´

3: "Descubrimientos" - A Game of Thrones de George R.R. Martin.

The Corrections (by Jonathan Franzen)

'And when the event, the big change in your life, is simply an insight--isn't that a strange thing? That absolutely nothing changes except that you see things differently and you're less fearful and less anxious and generally stronger as a result: isn't it amazing that a completely invisible thing in your head can feel realer than anything you've experienced before? You see things more clearly and you KNOW that you're seeing them more clearly'

Invitamos a cocineros extranjeros a aprender gratis junto a cocineros españoles.

Girls

The assorted humiliations, disasters and rare triumphs of four very different twenty-something girls: Hannah, an aspiring writer; Marnie, an art gallery assistant and cousins Jessa and Shoshanna.

Hannah: No one could ever hate me as much as I hate myself, okay? So any mean thing someone’s gonna think of to say about me, I’ve already said to me, about me, probably in the last half hour!

And very much so.

It's kind of a funny story

Dr. Eden Minerva: No, but I'm a psychiatrist, so I have to ask you about them at some point.

By Roger Senserrich, via Politikon.

Hero Absorbs Major Damage

(By Charles Yu)

I could definitely use a whole chicken right now. But I keep it to myself. I don't want to alarm anyone in the group. They're all busy fighting demon dogs. These guys are literally killing themselves for what? Fifty points a dog is what. It breaks my heart. When I think of everything the group has been through together, the early days grinding it out in the coin farms, to where we are now, I get a little blue in the aura, I do.

From Sorry, Please, Thank You:Stories. My favorite title of the year, so far.

On books, ebooks and Goodreads.

Random thoughts about books.

I get very attached to books and moving made it painfully clear (about 70% of my boxes were books). I have only bought electronic books for the last three or four years, but I have a tremendous amount of paper books that I really do not want to get rid of. I sometimes think of giving them to friends, to a public library and it sounds like a good idea, but at the same time it makes me sad. I rarely open a book that I have already read, but they are part of me by now. Those stories are part of my own story.

Those stories, my own story. I always thought I would never switch to electronic books for this very reason. I did, tho, and my life is a lot easier thanks to them. It does not matter how much I have to travel, my books are always around me. And not only that, I get to find new books because of the books I like, because it does not matter if there is no one around to recommend a book or a bookstore to sneak in. And it is easier to find people who like the same books you like.

The Goodreads Reading Challenge. Oh my. Such a guilty pleasure, such a lovely pain in the ass.
